CBT has recently been contracted to develop a redevelopment of the Government Center Garage here in Boston. The entire project will include 6 different buildings and over one million new square feet. The owning group has instructed us that they want the garage itself to remain open and functional throughout the entire process. This becomes really interesting when half of the garage is demolished to construct the buildings across the street. I was instructed to develop some type of temporary facade that could stay on the garage anywhere from one year to twenty. This was a fascinating opportunity because of the impressive size of both the facade itself and the project itself.
